Perhaps the most desirable form of Ruby, the Pigeon Blood Ruby is an exquisite variant of Ruby, with a unique colour that sets it apart from the rest. Whilst a Ruby may display several hues, the Pigeon Blood Ruby is famed for it’s deep , Pigeon Blood red hue. Coined by the Burmese, the name Pigeon Blood Ruby has been used for years to represent the truest and deepest blood red hues of ruby.

The Pigeon Blood Rubys are also known to be amongst the rarest of gems in the world, with one particular specimen of Pigeon Blood Ruby selling for a world record breaking £19.3 million. Although this was undoubtedly a unique example, it does prove beyond doubt that owning or purchasing any Pigeon Blood Ruby is an occasion in itself.
