Mozambique Ruby

An alternative to the Burma Ruby, the Mozambique Ruby came to the fore after the availability of Burmese Rubies became increasingly scarcer. Whilst still maintaining the signature red glow of a ruby Mozambique Rubies can in many cases be more pocket friendly, yet still retaining the high levels of quality and clarity sought after in a Mozambique Ruby.

Having been discovered in 2009, Mozambique Rubies have now become a respected source of the increasingly scare gemstone. Not only do the finest Mozambique rubies come close in colour to high quality Burmese rubies, they maintain many of the traits that one looks for in a Ruby. What makes the Mozambique rubies increasingly special in the gem market is the production of some larger gems from the mines that do not require heat treatment.
